Chemical peels, also commonly referred to as medi-peels, penetrate various layers of the skin based on their strength. This makes them ideal for addressing a range of concerns both on the surface and in deeper layers.

How do chemical and medi peels work? 

By exfoliating the upper skin layers, chemical peels promote skin cell turnover, leading to the regeneration of fresh, new skin. This process also boosts the production of collagen, elastin, and glycosaminoglycans, resulting in healthier, more youthful-looking skin.

Depending on your individual requirements, the peel can;

  • Medi-peels are tailored medical-grade chemical peels, and we typically use SkinCeuticals or Rationale formulations, designed to gently exfoliate the upper layers of skin via a controlled, customised approach. They rejuvenate complexions by encouraging skin cell turnover and stimulating collagen, elastin, and glycosaminoglycan production.  

  • These peels can effectively target a variety of concerns, including: 

    • Hyperpigmentation and sun damage 

    • Fine lines and early signs of ageing 

    • Acne, acne scarring, and blemishes 

    • Redness, couperosis, rosacea, and other uneven skin tone issues 

  • Your skin may look visibly brighter and more radiant immediately post treatment; however, best results will be seen approximately 5-7 days post treatment 

  • As our peels are customised to your specific skin health needs, some peels may have a few days worth of down time. This depends on the active ingredients and strengths used in your peel. Some of our peels may have no downtime, where some peels may have 5-7 days worth of mild flaking. Your therapist will always consult with you and ensure your downtime is planned accordingly before going ahead with treatment.

  • Treatment results will vary according to the client. Healthy, glowing skin requires commitment. We recommend a course of approximately 4-6 medi-peels spaced out monthly to achieve results. We then recommend ongoing homecare & maintenance treatments for your skin to maintain optimal radiance and glow. We do, however, also offer one off medi-peels that are perfect pre-event for radiant skin.

  • For best results, a course of approximately 4–6 medi-peels, spaced monthly, is suggested. Maintenance with tailored homecare and occasional follow-up peels helps preserve a radiant, refreshed appearance. One-off peels are also available if you're seeking a pre-event glow.  

  • Yes, when conducted by experienced, TGA-registered skin professionals using medical-grade products, medi-peels are safe and effective. Potential side effects include mild redness, flaking, or light peeling, which typically resolve within a few days. Your therapist will explain all potential reactions before proceeding. 

  • Yes, you can certainly combine medi-peels with other advanced treatments such as LED therapy (e.g., Omnilux) or microneedling treatments as part of a broader skin rejuvenation plan. Your therapist will advise on sequencing for optimal results and safety. 

  • Before treatment: Your clinician may recommend adjusting your skincare routine (e.g., pausing active ingredients like retinols) to ensure your skin is prepped for the peel. 

    Aftercare: Sunscreen is essential, given the new skin’s sensitivity. You’ll also receive tailored aftercare guidelines, typically advising gentle cleansing, avoiding excessive heat or exfoliants, and supporting your skin’s recovery.
