SYLFIRM X is The first TGA-approved Pulsed Wave and Continuous Wave Radio Frequency Micro-needling System.
Radio Frequency Skin Tightening
What is Sylfirm X?
Sylfirm X a TGA Approved is a radiofrequency microneedling device that combines microneedling with pulsed wave and continuous wave radiofrequency energy technology.
At Lúum Aesthetics, we offer Sylfirm X as part of our skin treatment options.
Sylfirm X may be suitable for patients with a range of skin concerns, including:
Vascular and pigmentation conditions such as rosacea, melasma and solar lentigo
Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH)
Acne scarring
Stretch marks
Fine lines and wrinkles

Why we love Sylfirm X to help treat Rosacea
Reduces Inflammation - The radio frequency energy delivered by Sylfirm X helps reduce inflammation associated with rosacea. This energy penetrates the skin to calm the blood vessels and reduce redness.
Strengthens Blood Vessels - By stimulating collagen production around the blood vessels, Sylfirm X helps to strengthen them, making them less prone to dilation and visible redness.
Promotes Healing - The micro-injuries caused by micro needling trigger the skin’s natural healing process, promoting healthier skin that is less reactive to rosacea triggers.
Why we love Sylfirm X to help treat Melasma
Targets Pigmented Cells - Sylfirm X delivers radio frequency energy directly to the pigmented cells responsible for melasma, helping to break them down and reduce their appearance.
Stimulates Collagen Production - The combination of micro needling and radio frequency stimulates collagen and elastin production, which helps to rejuvenate the skin and improve its overall tone and texture, reducing the visibility of melasma.
Improves Skin Barrier Function - By promoting the regeneration of healthy skin cells, Sylfirm X enhances the skin’s barrier function, making it more resilient to environmental factors that can exacerbate melasma.
Why we love Sylfirm X to help treat under eye sagging
Sylfirm X's ability to tighten up loose or sagging skin in the eye area is one of its standout functions.
Sylfirm X Device Settings - The eyelid area is difficult to treat because the tissue around our eyes is delicate. Sylfirm X can be used in the delicate eye area due to the wide variability in its depth of penetration. It can be adjusted all the way from .3 to 4mm, making it a safe and effective treatment for the eye area.
Promotes Skin Tightening - The thermal energy from the radio frequency component helps to heat the deeper layers of the skin, promoting tightening and lifting of the under-eye area.
Increases Blood Flow - The treatment promotes better blood circulation in the under-eye area, which can help reduce dark circles and improve overall skin health.
Why we love Sylfirm X to help improve hair loss and stimulate hair growth
Sylfirm X targets multiple layers of the skin with micro needles, utilising the heating effects of radio frequency. This improves collagen production and nutrient delivery to the hair follicle, which in turn stimulates hair growth.
Sylfirm-x radio frequency skin needling
-
Sylfirm X- is Radiofrequency microneedling — this offers the collagen-inducing and re-texturising effects of microneedling, along with the skin-tightening effects of radiofrequency heat.
-
Treatments take anywhere from 10-50 minutes depending on the area and concern.
-
For a full course of treatment, we recommend anywhere from three-to-six sessions performed four-to-six weeks apart with Sylfirm X. Remember that the results won't come overnight, as building new collagen takes anywhere from four to twelve weeks. Once your desired outcome is achieved we recommend yearly maintenance.

Following Sylfirm X treatment, some patients may experience temporary redness and mild swelling in the treated area. These effects, if they occur, typically resolve within 24 hours. Some patients may also notice dryness for up to a few days post-treatment.
Individual recovery experiences vary. Your practitioner will provide personalised aftercare advice at your appointment.
-
Like any medical or cosmetic procedure, radio-frequency microneedling does carry some risks and potential side effects, although they are generally mild and temporary. Some of the most common risks and side effects associated with Sylfirm-X include:
• Redness and swelling: The skin may appear red and slightly swollen for a few hours to a few days after the procedure.
• Bruising and pinpoint bleeding: Some individuals may experience mild bruising or pinpoint bleeding at the treatment site.
• Infection: There is a risk of infection if the needles used during the procedure are not properly sterilized.
• Allergic reactions: Some people may develop an allergic reaction to the topical products used during the procedure.
• Hyperpigmentation: In rare cases, skin needling can cause areas of the skin to darken (hyperpigmentation) or lighten (hypopigmentation).
• Scarring: Although rare, there is a risk of scarring if the procedure is performed incorrectly or the skin is not properly cared for after the treatment.

Sylfirm X uses non-insulated electrodes, which distribute radiofrequency energy along the full length of the needle rather than only at the tip. This design characteristic is a technical difference compared to some other devices that use insulated needles.
Most patients describe the sensation as a mild prickling. Individual pain tolerance varies, and your experience may differ. Topical anaesthetic is available prior to treatment if desired.
-
This is a common and important question for anyone considering radiofrequency microneedling.
Sylfirm X uses non-insulated electrodes that distribute radiofrequency energy within the dermis — the layer responsible for collagen and skin structure. Because the device is designed to operate at dermal depth rather than penetrating into the deeper subcutaneous tissue, the risk of unintended fat reduction is considered low when used at appropriate settings.
Some radiofrequency devices are specifically designed to reach deeper tissue layers for contouring purposes. Sylfirm X is not one of these — it is directed at skin quality, collagen remodelling, and texture, rather than fat reduction or contouring.
That said, individual anatomy varies. Patients will always be assessed by our practitioners prior to treatment, so that settings can be tailored appropriately to their skin type.
A thorough consultation is required before treatment to assess your suitability, discuss your concerns, and ensure the treatment approach is appropriate for your individual skin type and goals.
